As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, and as a Financial Professional with Guardrail Financial and Insurance Services, Scott’s primary objective is to match his clients’ values with planning strategies that bring confidence - whether the goal is:

  • designing a retirement income plan by objective that is predictable, sustainable, and growing
  • risk management planning centered on family or business protection
  • identifying ways to help maximize executive or employee benefits
  • facilitating “big picture” planning, or
  • assisting with other financial priorities.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Scott moved to the Bay Area in 1978. He began his career as a financial adviser in 1994, and has concentrated his professional attention on mid-life adults, seniors, and business-owners, identifying financial tools and strategies that make their lives rewarding and well-managed.

With an aging grandparent and a mother diagnosed with terminal cancer, Scott realized very early in life the essential importance of health and wealth. As a result, he is committed to serving people who face obstacles in working toward their retirement, as well as people who simply want to make the most informed decisions about how to put hard-earned money to work most effectively.Over the past twenty-nine years, Scott has led seminars on various aspects of financial planning and strategies for retirement communities, local public schools, non-profit organizations, and investment clubs.

Scott's personal life centers on his immediate and extended family, as well as on volunteer activities.   In June 2005 he married Eleena, and his family has grown to include his daughter Ashley born in 2007, Ethan born in 2009, two tabby cats (Charlie and Mia) and two hungarian pointers (Vizslas), Oscar and Felix.

A graduate with honors from the University of California Santa Cruz, Scott has a bachelor's degree in Business Economics and Environmental Studies. His securities licenses include the NASD Series 7 (General Securities Representative), Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent), and Series 65 (Uniform Investment Adviser) licenses. Additionally, Scott has earned California state licenses in Life and Health, Property and Casualty, and Variable Insurance. He is conversant in helping families discuss long term care planning as an integral part of a well thought out retirement plan, actually published in the CLTC Journal (Winter 2005) given his noted work with the mid-life adult children for their parents' planning.
